Affordable hydrophone technology is expanding the listening perspective of humans, enabling us to hear from a non-human perspective. There is a fascinating array of sounds to be heard in a common pond, or nearby river, including fish, amphibians, invertebrates, and plants. Yet very little is understood about the origins of these sounds. This group provides a place for people to share their audio recordings, along with any visual observations that may help identify the species. Through a growing database we hope to make correlations which could prove useful for future ecoacoustic research.
